Privacy Policy – Proxia (Free VPN & Proxy)
Last updated: 27/06/2026
This policy explains what data the Proxia browser extension handles and why. Proxia is developed by Proxia Ltd (“we”, “us”). If you have questions, contact us at duvalluigi1@gmail.com.
- WHAT PROXIA DOES
Proxia lets you route your browser’s traffic through a proxy server in a country you choose. It is a proxy-switching tool, not a self-hosted encrypted VPN tunnel — when connected, your traffic passes through servers operated by our infrastructure partner, Proxy-Seller (proxy-seller.io). - INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Proxia stores the following locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local), and does not send it to us:
• the server/country you last selected
• your connection status (connected/disconnected)
• your remaining free-usage credit and its expiry time
• the proxy username/password needed to authenticate with the selected server
This data stays on your device and is only used to operate the extension. Uninstalling Proxia removes it.
- INFORMATION SENT TO THIRD PARTIES
• Proxy traffic: while connected, your browsing traffic is routed through Proxy-Seller’s servers. Proxy-Seller (or any proxy operator) can see the traffic passing through its own servers, the same way any proxy/VPN provider can. We do not control or log this traffic ourselves.
• IP check: Proxia queries the public service api.ipify.org to read your device’s current public IP address, only to confirm whether the proxy connected successfully. No other data is sent with this request.
• Server list: to populate the list of available countries/servers, Proxia queries the Proxy-Seller API using our account credentials; this request does not include any of your personal information. - THE “WATCH TO EARN CREDIT” PAGE
When you choose to extend your free usage, Proxia opens a sponsor page hosted at newapptome.com in a new browser tab. That page uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies on that page to serve and measure ads, as described in Google’s own policies (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads). We do not control or receive data collected by Google’s advertising systems; visiting that page is optional and only happens when you actively choose to “Watch Ad.” - WHAT WE DO NOT DO
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not read, log, or analyze the content of the websites you visit.
• We do not use the proxy/VPN connection to inject ads or modify webpage content. - PERMISSIONS
Proxia requests a small set of browser permissions. Some of them — proxy, webRequest, webRequestAuthProvider, and broad host access — are powerful permissions that let the extension see and influence network-level behavior across the sites you visit, so we explain each one in detail below, including what it does and does not let us see. • proxy — This is the core permission Proxia needs to function. It lets the extension change your browser’s network settings so that, while connected, your traffic is routed through the proxy server for the country you selected, and switched back to a direct connection when you disconnect or your credit runs out. This permission does not let us read the content of your traffic; it only lets us choose which server your connection goes through. • host_permissions (http:///, https:///) — Proxy and authentication settings in Chrome apply per-request, not per-site, so this permission is required to make the proxy and login behavior work consistently on every website you visit while connected — not just a specific site. We do not use this permission to read, collect, or store the content of the pages you visit; Proxia has no content script and does not inspect page contents. • webRequest — Used narrowly to observe the outcome of a single type of request: the call to api.ipify.org that checks your public IP address after connecting. We use this to confirm the proxy is actually active (by comparing the returned IP to the server you selected) and to show you an accurate ON/OFF status. We do not use this permission to inspect, log, or analyze your general browsing requests. • webRequestAuthProvider — The proxy servers you connect to require a username and password. This permission lets Proxia answer that authentication challenge automatically with the credentials tied to your selected server, so you are not interrupted by a separate browser login prompt on every site. The credentials used are limited to what’s needed to authenticate with the proxy server itself. • storage — Used only to remember your selected server, connection status, and free-credit balance locally on your device (chrome.storage.local), as described in Section 2. This data is not transmitted to us. • tabs — Used only to open the optional sponsor page (Section 4) when you choose to watch it, and to detect when that tab opens or closes so we can grant or withhold the credit reward correctly. • alarms — Used only for internal timing: periodically checking whether your free credit has expired, and timing the minimum viewing duration on the optional sponsor page.
In short: the network-level permissions above exist solely to turn the proxy connection on/off, authenticate it, and verify it’s working — never to read, log, or sell the content of your browsing activity. See our permissions explanation document for the same breakdown written for store reviewers.
